Two share $106 million lotto bonanza

Lotto officials estimated that one in three Australians would enter the draw. (AAP: Alan Porritt)

The champagne corks will be popping for two lucky winners of Australia's biggest lotto draw.
The winners from Queensland and South Australia will each add $53,274,992.38 to their bank accounts from Tuesday night's Oz Lotto $106 million first division prize.
The huge payouts are second only to the record $58.7 million won in June 2008 by a single Powerball entry from a syndicate of Melbourne workmates.
And 60 more people will take $33,000 each from the second division pool.
The jackpot draw originally set for $90 million was pushed up by a massive number of late entries, taking the first division prize to $106.548 million and the total prize pool to $177.422 million.
Ticketholders only had a 45-million-to-one chance of winning, but that did not stop Australians buying 10 million entries for the record draw.
Goldencasket.com and other lottery-related websites crashed under the volume of internet traffic soon after the 8:30pm (AEST) draw.
Tattersalls spokeswoman Karen Anning said the two winners would be notified before the agents they bought tickets from were revealed.
Victoria posted close to three million entries, while Queensland recorded more than 2.2 million entries in the draw, Ms Anning said.
Lotto officials estimated that one in three Australians would enter the draw.
The winning numbers were 12, 3, 38, 21, 23, 29 and 40, with 43 and 22 as the supplementary numbers

But if tax is used in a proper way it helps ourselves only.
